Black on Tan: 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS For Sale

This is a really self indulgent posting, but aren't they all? I was doing some Sunday morning surfing with my coffee and breakfast when I spotted this one. On one hand a seemingly pedestrian Ferrari (as if there was such a thing), but this color combo just jumped off the page at me. Check out how clean this 328 GTS is:

quote from sellers listing:

BLACK (NERO) METALLIC OVER TAN LEATHER

IMPECCABLE CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT

UNDENIABLY THE NICEST, MOST ORIGINAL 328 WE'VE EVER SEEN

THE ENGINE BAY LOOKS LIKE IT JUST LEFT THE FACTORY

THE SEATS HAVE NEVER BEEN DYED OR REPAIRED

THE DASH HAS NOT SHRUNK, PULLED, OR WARPED

THE CARPETS ARE ORIGINAL, UNDYED, CLEAN, AND AMAZING

THE AIR CONDITIONING BLOWS ICE COLD, EVEN IN FLORIDA ON AN 85 DEGREE DAY!

The 308 and 328's are often described as great entry level Ferrari's. While obviously not to be confused with Honda reliability, they are much lighter on the wallet in terms of maintenance costs when compared to the later models. And of course they resemble the Magnum Ferrari, and for a certain slice of the buying demographic, that plays...

1970 Fiat Dino Bertone Coupe 2.4L

Another great offering from Sports Car Shop in Eugene, Oregon. With my very brief time behind the wheel, this car drove very nicely for a car of it's age. This particular example has had a respray and also had the bumpers and moldings shaved, making for a very clean look. Considering it's pedigree, it represents a pretty damn good value I think! Bidding has been brisk, so don't delay.

quote from seller's listing:

According to some publications only 387 of these understated but attractive 4 cam 2.4 liter Dino coupes were produced for the entire world. A spectacular Ferrari drivetrain in a sheep’s body. Unlike the 2 liters, all of the 2.4 liter cars were made in house at Ferrari and supplied the exact same and more robust 2.4 180 hp engine that was fitted to the 246 Dino. This V6 power is transmitted thru a ZF 5 speed gearbox . The four wheel Girling brakes for the 2.4s were shared with the De Tomaso Pantera and the Lamborghini Miura. This is the most desirable Dino coupe model as it has incorporated many improvements and the cast iron block 4 cam engine makes more power and torque than the earlier 2 liter. Rear suspension was also upgraded on the 2.4 cars. This is universally agreed to be the best and most durable version of the Dino Coupes.

As I've mentioned previously, I take most of the pictures for Sports Car Shop and I maintain their website. However, I do not represent their inventory or business with this blog post.

1982 Ferrari Mondial: Bargain Ferrari Project?

There's no doubt about it, the Mondial stands next to the 308GT4 as one of the most ugliest ducklings ever produced by the mark. And that's really saying something as most Ferrari's are anything but. But it's hard to argue, especially for the time period that produced so many greats, that the Mondial somehow got approved and built. But it is a . Take a look:

quote from the listing:

This car would make an excellent daily driver it has more room than the GTS but has the same Ferrari drivability and its just a fun usable car, no evidence of collision and its had the belts and water pump changed not more than 1000 miles ago.

The car has only done 84 thousand kilometers around 50,000 miles from new. I am not selling this Ferrari as concourse it is after all 28 years old, but it still looks great. The car shifts nice, the engine is crisp, in fact the more I drive it the better it gets; they do need to be driven and that's the beauty of a Mondial, it has more head room and more storage space.

Think of it as a Ferrari that you can use as a commuter that looks great and handles like only a Ferrari can.
it does have some stone chips on the paint work the passenger window is lazy some time it works other times it does not, the interior for the year I feel is better than average it sits on the original tires and they are showing signs of ageing, other than that no major faults, starts grate oil pressure and temp are good no problems there. obviously there is no warranty given or implied, it is after all 28 years old but you are more than welcome to send a inspector or come take a look for your self.

The listing for this car and the asking price should tell you everything you need to know about what you're getting into: a running project car. But this could be perfect for the mechanically handy buyer with a realistic budget for repairs.

What would you do with it -- fix it up and drive it, make a track day car of it, or sell it for parts? Leave a comment below.

1989 Ferrari Mondial T Cabriolet

Who could forget the scene that featured this lovely Ferrari spider in Scent of a Woman. Early Modial's have not aged as gracefully as the later models and this one in particular looks really well looked after. Relive the movie scene in this really nice looking example!

Check out this

quote from sellers listing:

I am very pleased to present this gorgeous 1989 Ferrari Mondial T Cabriolet. Rossa Corsa with Crema hides (that Ferrari talk for red with tan interior) and striking red carpets. This is my personal car.

This 4 passenger Ferrari is commonly considered in the Ferrari community as one of the most underrated of all Ferraris. It shares the same 3.4 Liter V8 motor with the 348 and produces approx. 300 HP. It offers top down, spirited driving and you can even fit the kids in the back seats (I do) - best of all worlds. Mileage is 29,7XX and VIN # is ZFFFC33A3K0082172.

Mondials get a bad rap from most armchair enthusiasts, but lets be straight... This isn't a car you'd kick out of bed. It's gorgeous and represents a really good value for top down driving with all the panache that comes with driving a classic red Ferrari. If you've been a skeptic, wait until you see a nice one in person -- it will change your mind about this under valued modern classic.
