On Friday we featured a fine, restored specimen of an Alfa Romeo GTV6. It was possibly one of the best GTV6s we've seen here at CICFS. These coupes offer one of the best performance values for money when it comes to classic Italian cars, so I thought we should highlight another, if not as mint, example for sale in Florida.
Best described as an "excellent driver." Mechanically sound and visually stunning. More than $8,000 spent on repairs in the last two years, including, timing belt, rebuilt transmission, alignment, A/C repair, clutch, outer and inner shaft bearings, and lug nuts, new battery. I have all the documentation available. I've been using it as my daily driver for 18 months. The work was perfomed at Stephens Alfa in Pompano Beach and Auto Veloce Inc North Miami Beach. Both strictly Alfa shops. The underside carriage is in very good condition. There is no sign of damage or rust repair.
The car sits on aftermarket alloy wheels. New tires. The interior is in great condition. There are a couple of cracks on dashboard, and it has an AutoSport GTV6 cover on it. All gauges and switches are fully operational. A/C blows cold. The engine compartment is in good original condition.The trunk is in very good condition. Pictures speak for themselves. While this car has very high mileage for an Alfa Romeo, the host of maintenance and repairs it's benefitted from is impressive, as the owner has spent the cost of the car in getting it sorted. I'd say the $7,000 asking price is just about right, if this car turns out to be as nice as described.
When talking about Italian cars, it's not always about speed and style. The Multipla was Fiat’s take on a people carrier for the post war generation. This was a rather clever little car. Not much longer than the original Mini, this car could seat six and still have room for the passegers’ baggage due to a rear mounted engine and a cockpit situated in front of the front axle. Popular as taxis in tight urban spaces, these cars have a small but loyal following and command a premium over the 600 sedan of which they were based. This Mutipla for sale in California could be considered a bit of a restomod, with the choice in color and wheels.
1959 Fiat 600 Multipla, Completely Restored and Upgraded
Up for auction is this unique 1959 Fiat Multipla. This special version of the famous Fiat 600 is rarely found. None are restored and upgraded to this level. Nearly 1000 hours were spent restoring this car. This is a rare vehicle, properly restored, and upgraded to be a beautiful and usable vehicle. There was great expense in labor and parts required to prepare and restore it to this level.
Fiat Multiplas were available in two interior configurations and this is the more desirable of the two, the 6-seater. The (4) rear seats fold down completely flat into the floor and provided Italian vendors the ability to haul goods and cargo to market during the week and the entire family of six to church on Sunday. A great design feature not copied until over 40 years later.
The early Multiplas came with only a standard 633 cc motor. This was not sufficient power to move a potential of 6 people and luggage. Fiat compensated for the low power by changing the final drive ratio of the trans-axle to 6.11 gears. This allowed the car to make it up steep hills but limited top speed to 61 MPH. This car has an 850cc-based Fiat motor so it has more power and also the final drive ratio was changed to the same as a regular 600 sedan. The engine was built with modest street compression, the standard Abarth 30/70 grind cam, and stock 2 barrel carburetor. The net result is that it drives anywhere you want it to and is completely usable in modern traffic.
The trans-axle was fully rebuilt. It has new bearings and syncros as well as new first-reverse slider and new first gear, and new reverse idler. This trans-axle is the correct early unit with the hand emergency brake mounted on the transaxle itself. The brakes were completely rebuilt to stock. There are drum brakes on all fours. It has the proper brakes on the front, which on a Multipla are larger than a regular 600. The suspension is all stock and totally overhauled with the addition of gas shock absorbers. The result is a great handling car that it is quite stable and a pleasure to drive.
To provide the best foundation, every component, nut and bolt was removed the body. Then the bare tub was then completely stripped of all finishes. All rust or corrosion was professionally replaced with new metal. The bottom side and inside floor panels of the car were coated with Urethane bed liner. The interior floor is fitted with the factory-style rubber mats. The rest of the car is painted in a two stage modern urethane. The bottom color is Aston Martin green and the upper half is a dark silver that was picked to highlight the green. The interior paint is completely finished in the Aston Martin green and looks a sharp as the exterior.
All the exterior trim was polished or plated to a high standard. The front bumper and trim on the nose is all stock and unmodified. The interior upholstery is all stock layout with matched seams and color changes as per original. The material colors were chosen to complement the paint colors and the pinstriped accent. The wheels and tires are real MiniLites out of the UK, correct 12 inch diameter, and correct 4 x 98 bolt pattern. Tires are new radials. All glass is either new or in great original condition. As this is a rare and unique car restored to unmatched ‘concours’ condition, the RESERVE will reflect these factors.
While not to everyone's taste, I kind of like the two tone color scheme. The wheels, well, I could go either way. I think there are better vintage cars out there for which the Minilite wheels are suited. Currently, Multiplas are ranging in the low $20,000 range for more rough examples to over $30,000 for the best original or restored examples. With a bid closing in on $30,000 and the reserve not yet me, it's clear the seller has a high figure in mind. A lot of care has gone into this Multipla, but will it be enough to seal the deal?
A friend of mine from Rotterdam once told me, "if you ain't Dutch, you ain't much." I honestly think there's some truth to that statement after visiting Amsterdam and parts of the Dutch countryside. With interesting people comes interesting cars, it seems. Of all the vehicles we cover here at CICFS and our sister site, German Cars for Sale Blog, some of the most immaculate and unique specimens hail from The Netherlands. This restored Alfa Romeo GTV6 with a 3.0 liter V6 is just one such car, a very impressive specimen of one of the most revered sports cars to come out of Italy in the 1980s.
Hereby I want to sell my super maintained Alfa Romeo GTV6, with 3.0 liter engine. Fully restored (October 1997 to August 1999). Only driven 4,500 km (only in good weather). Nearly perfect cosmetically and mechanically. Engine: 2959 CC/188PS. Cylinder head completely overhauled, six new cylinder liners, six new pistons. Crankshaft balanced, clutch replaced, valve cover and air intake are glass-pearl blasted and polished. All engine parts are cosmetic reconditioned. New timing belt, spark plugs, etc. Interior absolutely spotless and nearly like new! Body: two new front fenders, new spare wheel well, new paint job. Color Alfa Rosso 130. Extra's: car is lowered, central locking with remote control including immobilizer, 16 inch Zender wheels, original wheels (4x), power steering fitted after steering body was overhauled. Car has new "Apk" (Dutch MOT).
I've rarely seen a GTV6 in such great condition, and the level of reconditioning here is impressive. The Zender wheels are a nice period touch and the velour upholstery is a welcome change from the usual worn out leather trim we see in these cars. At the equivalent of $20,000, this is a big ask for a GTV6, no matter the vintage. This is surely a case of the seller attempting to recoup restoration costs. It's unlikely he'll get the asking price, as this car may bring $15,000 at the high end. In a few years time, though, as a new generation of enthusiasts come of age, we just may see GTV6 values take off in the manner that the earlier Giulia GTVs have.
The beginning of the 1990s brought to a close one of Ferrari’s most memorable models, the 308/328. Immortalized through the hit TV series Magnum P.I. and numerous kit car tributes that aped its style on lowly Pontiac Fiero mechanicals, this was a car that defined a generation of sports cars and inspired budding car enthusiasts to work hard in the hopes of one day piloting one of these machines. With the arrival of the 348 in 1990, the same mid-engine, V8 formula was in play albeit in more modern clothes. These 348s have found themselves in a bit of a no man’s land in terms of desirability, between the classics and the more modern machines to emerge from the factory in Modena. This 348TS for sale in California is a good opportunity to get a well maintained modern classic at an attractive price.
Up for sale is my prize 1990 Ferrari 348TS. I purchased a Lambo about a year ago, and have decided to part with this beloved car. This car is beautiful, has no accident history, and is in excellent condition. It has been serviced by Bobileff Motor Cars of San Diego during my ownership. This car was my baby for almost 10 Years. It was well loved, and owned with pride. Always garaged, kept clean and dry. Take the time to check this one out, save yourself some cash. I didn’t provide many pictures of the interior, but it is beautiful with no rips, warn marks or tears what so ever.
I’m glad the seller explained where he’s serviced the car and where one can get detailed records from. Very important with this caliber of sports car. Its mileage of just under 40,000 is about average for 348s of this vintage and is nice to see, as this hasn’t been a garage queen nor has it been abused to within an inch of its life. Black is a favorite color of mine on these 348s, and the Pininfarina lines has aged quite nicely. It certainly isn’t as dated as some other sports cars of the era. A little more detail on what it would take to fix the A/C would be nice, but for me, I doubt I’d ever have the A/C on, as I’d have the windows down soaking in that legendary Ferrari V8 exhaust note.
Based off of the 1300 Series, the Junior Zagato was Alfa’s attempt to produce a more exclusive vehicle off modest mechanicals. It was a striking shape, with Perspex covered headlamps that surrounded the traditional Alfa grille and a fastback profile with a kammback design incorporated. The production process was rather elaborate, with the basic structure built at Alfa’s Arese factory before being shipped to Zagato in Terrazano di Rho to weld in a new trunk floor. Then the bodies were shipped to La Maggiore in Turin for further assembly than back to Zagato for finishing. As a result, production numbers were not very high, with only 357 built in 1971. There’s not many of these Junior Zagatos roaming US roads, so this one for sale in California is certainly a rare opportunity.
This Junior Z was originally Mello Yellow and remains so today. Paint is aging with some cracking. Floor pans are rust free with all jacking points solid. Glass excellent. Interior is complete including the 2 spoke wheel. Currently the original console is out (but photographed and included) substituted by a Alfa Berlina console.
A 2.0L with performance cams fitted with early cross style air cleaner (Duetto) Looks factory. Original number matching 1.3 liter engine included. Cars is crazy fast. New factory style steel GTA rims with new Pirelli rubber. No 2nd gear syncro grind, box shifts smoothly. Car runs fine and pulls up to high RPMS Drive anywhere. The Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato is the cheapest Zagato bodied car available. There are only a handful of these in the country as they were never imported. Fewer still are the number of times they become available for sale. Of all the 105 series period cars this is the best drive. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time.
This Junior Zagato is a good driver quality car that could be used as is or benefit from a bit of tidying up. The starting bid of $28,500 is about close to what an average example should sell for, with exceptional, show quality cars bringing close to $40,000. I’d suspect anything over $30,000 is a bit optimistic, but with GTVs commanding strong prices these days, we may see a coachbuilt Alfa such as this benefit from that trend.
The Lancia Fulvia is hands down one of my favorite Italian machines. This delicate looking coupe went on to flex its muscle in competition and was the spark that lit over two decades of World Rally dominance by Lancia. A bit rarer than the similar vintage Alfa Romeo GTV, the Fulvia was a technical tour de force in true Lancia fashion, featuring a narrow angle V4 engine, front-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes. This Fulvia for sale in Georgia is a later Series 3 model and is a good, driver quality car.
This Fulvia was purchased in Brescia Italy, and shipped to the U.S. in September of 2007. Since then it has had the starter, muffler, and battery replaced, and the brake cylinder rebuilt. The odometer reads 68800km, which is about 42750 original miles. It is in excellent running condition, and is a pleasure to drive. It has been driven regularly but lightly and only in good weather. The paint is not original but is the original color, and is in good condition with a nice gloss and only minor imperfections. There is no visible rust anywhere on the car, however there are some bubbles in the paint in a few spots where rust may be developing underneath. (see photos)
The interior is also in very nice condition with seats and carpet only showing light wear. This car is in very original condition, with no alterations or modifications. Lights, turn signals, gauges, heater, radio, etc. all work properly. This car is a perfectly reliable and fun car to drive as is, or suitable for restoration for someone looking for a show car.
With a starting bid of $8,000, this Fulvia is priced quite attractively, as good quality cars are commanding in the $10,000 to $15,000 range these days, at least. I'd certainly do a thorough look over of any rust issues that might not be readily apparent, but aside from that, someone will be getting a good car here.
Another Miura has surfaced for sale this week. This one is the same model and year as the P400S we featured a little over a week ago. While not as dramatic in silver, this example for sale in California has had a recent engine rebuild and comes with an interesting history.
Chassis 4039 is a standard production, normal P400S (Miura S) built and sold in both production and model year, 1969. It is one of only 338 similar examples built and the 357th sequential Miura out of a total production run of just 763 examples of all three versions (P400, S & SV.). The initial order for the car was internal (not assigned to a particular client) and the car completed under Job or Sequence no. 357 on April 17th, 1969. The car remains in the original delivery color combination of Argento Metalico (light metallic silver) and standard black interior. The original engine which remains with this particular example to day is No. 30357.
The car is listed by Lamborghini records as destination Torino and the car was in fact delivered new and sold by LAMBERAUTO an official agent in Torino:

LAMBERAUTO remains an active dealer to this day under the direction of Sig. Messori Riccardo and their showroom remains near the city center business district on the left bank of the Po river. They were at the time a prominent dealer and official servicing agent for Lamborghinis but primarily noted today for the service work as well as being an official FORD service center.
Peter Coltrin photographed the car at the Turin Motor Show later in 1969 and in and around the Parco Cavalieri di Vittori Veneto for an unpublished magazine article. The photos remain today in the Peter Coltrin Collection and as far as as currently known have not ever been published. This Miura had been registered to the current owner for the past twelve years in Tokyo, Japan until a sale and purchase by our company last week. Japanese registry records provided two additional clues on this Miura's earlier history prior to our purchase. The year of first registration in Japan was "SHOWA 54, Year of the Sheep" which translates to 1979!
The car was first registered for the road in June of 1979. It was registered to the last Japanese owner in January of 2000; "HEISEI 12, Year of the Dragon." The car had original Italian ownership documents that were surrendered to obtain Japanese import and registration documents in early 1979 and the car is believed to have been flown rather than shipped by ocean as departure city was Milan to Tokyo rather than Genoa to Tokyo. While Genoa had a decent size airport, Milan as a departure city is usually and indicator of a flight.
The first and possibly only Italian owner's name and contact details are still missing. The other two Japanese owners are both known. It would appear at this time that Miura S, s/n 4039 has had only three owner's from new and remains one of the least known, seen or discussed examples to come to market in some time.
Miura S, s/n 4039 is a fully "matching numbers" example with no rust or accident history, coupled with an ultra-short chain of ownership and careful care and maintenance by each previous owner. It is an ultra-original example with a recent rebuild and break-in time only on the engine and gearbox. Additional research continues regarding this Miura's early history and possible use during the 1969 Turin Motor Show.
The last Miura we featured was up for sale at $650,000. This particular car undercuts that figure by just a bit, but is still solidly in the heart of where Miura values currently lie. If someone could confirm that this was the Turin Motor Show car, that would certainly add a bit of appeal for collectors.
Following on to the Milano sedan we featured yesterday, the Alfa Romeo Spider is another car that has me longing for some fall motoring fun. This 1978 Spider for sale in Colorado has been well maintained and looks sharp in black with its red leather interior trim.
For Sale: One 1978 Alfa Romeo Spider. A three owner lifetime dry climate Denver car in excellent condition. This car was delivered to Schomp Alfa BMW in 1978, where the factory AM/FM/Cassette system was installed. All owners have been Alfa enthusiasts, first owned if for 6 years, second 4 years, and last owner for 24 years! I can testify that over the past 24 years, the car has never been driven in inclimate weather, and only around 17,000 miles total were put on the vehicle. Needs a new headlight switch (only high beams work) and horn. Engine is exceptionally clean, and runs well. For all of the mechanical upgrades, all have had time to "shake down" and be perfected over the 20+ year ownership. This car has a lovely exhaust burble, loves to rev above 5000 (try that with your Bosch car), and corners like it's on rails.
If you're looking for a fun car for leisurely drives or canyon carving, this one will be perfect. It is reliable, super fun, and is a striking color combination rarely seen in Alfas. Tonneau cover is included. This car has always been owned by Alfa enthusiasts, and maintained by Alfa specialty mechanics. I am only parting with it for financial reasons. You can't get a marginal Miata for $10,000, so here is an opportunity to get a beautiful Italian sports car for that price or less. Thanks for looking. Hope you'll bid.
There are some really rough Spiders out there for under $10,000, but this is certainly one of the nicer ones that I've seen. True, it's not the iconic Duetto or the later, more reliable Series 4, but this car is charming in its own right and has been looked after properly. I've never been a fan of late 1970s Spiders, but at $7,500, this is an excellent value and a classic you wouldn't hesitate to take out regularly for some exercise.
The Milanos are coming out of the woodwork this week here at CICFS. Yet another mint example has cropped up. This particular car for sale in California has the smaller 2.5 V6 and represents the first model year that this Alfa Romeo brought this sedan to US shores.
Offered for an appreciating new owner is this rare classic ONE-OWNER 1987 Alfa Romeo Milano 2.5! Finished in what appears to be all original black paint over grey cloth interior, this RUST-FREE classic Alfa sedan was purchased new 25 years ago right here in San Francisco and has been driven a mere 90,000 since. This is a great find for the Alfa enthusiast sporting the great-running 2.5 liter V6 engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, cold air conditioning, electric windows, original alloy wheels with Pirelli tires.
THE BODY AND TRIM
The body and trim of this 1987 Alfa are in VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT CONDITION OVERALL! I would rate the 99.99% PERFECTLY RUST-FREE exterior finish of this car a solid "8" on a scale of 1-10. The black paint has a deep lustrous finish, all the trim is intact and original, the original alloy wheels are in excellent condition with deep tread on the Pirelli tires. Inside the engine bay is in excellent original condition as is the rear boot with original tool kit and factory jack and pouch.
THE INTERIOR
The interior of this little classic Alfa is in EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION overall. The grey cloth seats are in superb condition as are the crack-free dash, original carpets and doorpanels.The headliner shows some sagging, the stereo is awol, the a/c blows ice cold and ALL of the gauges, lights and blinkers work as they should.
THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This Milano starts, runs and drives VERY WELL! The engine is smooth and fairly powerful with a nice exhaust growl from the free revving V6 engine. The transmission shifts well and the steering is very tight and responsive. The braking is strong and straight and the suspension feels very good with no clunks or rattles. With its lively chassis and low curb weight [2,900 pounds] this Alfa is super satisfying to drive with gobs of that Italian "verve"! Note: there is some definite rear differential whine.
At just a shade under $6,000, this is a pretty good value as far as mint Milanos come. Of course, there are always strings attached and in this case, it would be the differential whine. The cause is most likely a worn thrust washer, which will involve disassembly of the gearbox. Not a job for the novice, then. Provided that job is all that needs sorting, it would prove well worth someone's time and effort to snap this Milano up, as these represent the end of an era in rear-drive Alfa Romeo sedan history.
With the fall weather arriving here on the East Coast, I've got visions of escaping the city and tackling some winding B roads covered with leaves. What better tool for the job than a rear-wheel drive Alfa Romeo sedan? This Milano Verde for sale in North Carolina represents the final year for this four-door Alfa before the 164 sedan superseded it in 1991.

When they were new, I never was too attracted to the Milano/75 styling, but time has been kind to this car in my eyes. It's got an '80s edginess about it that is lacking in cars today. Anywhere between $5,000 to $10,000 seems to be the order of the day for clean, well kept Milanos, and this one's starting bid of $6,800 puts it right in the thick of that range.
