1973 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000

The Alfa Romeo type 105 is a perennial favorite of Alfisti. This coupe's handsome Bertone lines and rorty twin cam engine made for a very attractive, rear-drive motoring experience. The 2000 was the final iteration of these beloved coupes. This 1973 GTV 2000 was imported from Italy ten years ago and has racked up a couple of first place awards at car shows.

This is an original 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, purchased in Florence Italy in 2002. Car was in storage for 21 years in original owners garage. I purchased it from the second owner which had just recently purchased it but had to sell it due to his upcoming wedding and needed the money. As you can see in the pictures the European model has a few different option than the north American version. It comes with dellorto twin carbs, higher performance exhaust manifold, no side lights on the side body in the rear of the car and small round side lights in the front rather than the rectangular front and back on the N. A. version. Lighter weight doors, pivoting front lights (small lever located under the main lights that allow them to pivot up and down to compensate for when you have extra weigh in the back seats. All the instruments are in Italian writing.

The car is all original, never any accident, no rust with original air conditioning (very rare in Italy), everything works on the car. The second owner installed a pull out radio with electric antenna and made a new back tray to install the rear speakers, I have the original tray untouched without any holes for speakers. When I got the car I decided to rebuild the engine due to it being in stored for so many years. Engine was running fine when I purchased it in Florence. I changed all the gaskets, install high compression pistons 10.41, light weight flywheel & electronic distributor and coil.

I also installed performance springs and shocks, Koni in the front belstein in the rear, also polyurethane suspension bushing, cross- drilled brake rotors, stebro stainless steel exhaust great sound. I have all the original parts that come with car. Paint is in great shape very minor chips and scratches. Original owner's manual in Italian, plus also a second one in English writing showing all the specs for the euro model. Car comes with the original period after market Peronal 5 star mags (this is the same company that supplied the steering wheels for Alfa Romeo) and almost new 205/60R14 tires , also yellow fog lights (white ones also included).

Car ran great and runs even better with the upgrades, great acceleration and very smooth with a great sound, rarely listen to the radio when driving. The car won First place in the Alfa Romeo Owners Club 2004 National Convention in Manchester New Hampshire in the 105/115 coupes category and 1st place at the 2004 Tutto Italiano in Brookline Mass. in the Alfa Romeo category. Unfortunately I rarely use the car, last long trip was in 2004 and I need the storage, very sad to see it go. Needs a great home to some one that will appreciate it and enjoy it.

Also comes with the car is the original owner's manual in Italian writing along with a second manual (english version) for the same euro spec car. Car has NO rust as first mentioned and has never been patched up due to rust issues, I have never driven it in the rain.

Pervinca Blue is a color not often seen on the GTV and I think it looks fantastic, with a bit more depth to it than your typical metallic blue. With the important mechanical bits addressed, I would suspect this GTV will fetch somewhere in the low to high $20,000 range, which is where many of these coupes are trading hands these days. Given this is a European market car, it might even bring a bit more to the right buyer.

2003 Maserati Coupe GT

It's been ten years since Maserati returned to the US market. It was with this car, the Coupe GT, that they broke into what would become their largest market worldwide. These new cars with their Ferrari derived V8 engines went a long way towards erasing bad memories of the Biturbo from the 1980s and brought Italian car ownership closer to the mainstream in the US once again. This Coupe GT for sale in Chicago has the desirable 6-speed manual transmission in place of the Cambiocorsa paddle shift gearbox.

Little in the way of a description is given by the seller, which is unfortunate when it comes to high end Italian exotics. As noted by a few of our readers, with these kind of cars, it's paramount to have a full and detailed description when it comes to service and repairs with a vehicle of this caliber. The asking price of just under $27,000 is right on point with current market values. While the metallic gray paintwork isn't the most eye catching color for the Coupe GT, it could be just the ticket for those seeking incognito high performance motoring.

1973 Maserati Bora

When the Lamborghini Miura came along, the world stood up and took notice. The sports car game would be forever changed and competitors were eager to introduce their own mid-engined models. Under Citroën's ownership, Maserati took to task of developing a successor to the successful Ghibli. First seen at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, the Bora incorporate a monocoque chassis mated to a tubular structure which ensconced the familiar 4.7 liter, twin cam V8 engine. Later a 4.9 liter version of the engine would be available.

Production of the Bora ceased in 1978 with 564 produced. Maserati would not see another mid-engine vehicle in their lineup until the limited production, Enzo based MC12 would appear in 2004. This Bora for sale in Texas had a major restoration in the early 1990s and had the slimmer, more attractive Euro bumpers installed a few years later.

In March 1971, the new Bora was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show. Once again Maserati chose the name of a wind for its dramatic Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed (Ital Design), mid-engine GT. The Bora featured a sporty but comfortable cabin with its air conditioning and sophisticated, innovative chassis. Citroen encouraged high-pressure hydraulics for the windows, pop-up headlights, adjustable seats and pedal box, as well as vented disc brakes.

Few of these Italian supercars remain in the US and are quickly becoming collectable. Finished in the appropriate red paintwork over black leather upholstery, this Bora has received a considerable amount care over the years. Major restoration work recorded includes a complete strip to bare metal and respray in the correct hue in 1990 (22 years later the paint has begun to show its age, but remains fitting for a strong driver) – and a complete motor/mechanical refreshing in 1998. Euro bumpers replaced the original US-spec rubbers in the early 2000’s followed by new leather on the seats. The Bora was well maintained over the succeeding years with refreshed brakes and hydraulics, as well as various other improvements.

Included with the Maserati are the extensive servicing and parts receipts from the last 24 years as well as owner’s, servicing and maintenance manuals. The car is an absolute thrill to drive; the Bora combines the dynamics of a mid-mounted engine with an understated Italian design that delivers the ultimate highway motoring experience.

The highest quality Boras out there can reach into the $60,000 to $70,000 range. A value of around $50,000 to $60,000 is probably what we are looking at here for this well preserved example. With such an extensive service history on hand, this should reassure potential owners attracted to this sleek sports car from the Seventies.

1971 Maserati Ghibli Spyder 4.7

It never fails. Every time I set my sights on a Maserati Ghibli, I can't help but think this is one of the most gorgeous Italian cars ever. This is especially the case if it happens to be one of the 125 Spyders ever made. These convertibles are toys for the serious collector, as they command big money these days. This Ghibli for sale in New York is a true survivor with a full history and is a rare opportunity to own one of Maserati's greats.

As we stated the last time we featured a Ghibli Spyder, these open roofed exotics tend to command anywhere between $275,000 to $350,000. Almost half a million dollars is all of the money for one of these cars. Even considering the patina and originality, I'd tend to think we might see $425,000, maybe $450,000 at the most.

1970 Iso Rivolta

We've all drooled over cars like the Ferrari Daytona, Lamborghini Miura and Maserati Ghibli, but some of the most beautiful designs in Italian automotive history come from manufacturers you may have never heard of. Iso was a company that, before World War II, produced refrigeration units and then moved into motorcycles and scooters after the war. In the 1950s, they were responsible for the Isetta bubble car that was licensed to several manufacturers, including BMW. Then, at the Torino Motor Show in 1962, they dropped the curtain on the Rivolta, an sleek 2+2 coupe with the heart of a Chevrolet, in this case, a 5.4 liter V8. Designed with help by famed engineer Giotto Bizzarini, these cars were impossibly fast for their day, being able to cruise comfortably at speeds over 120 mph on the motorway.

From 1963 through 1970, approximately 800 of these coupes were produced. This example for sale in St. Louis, Missouri is a very late production model that is in original condition, save for an older respray.

1970 Iso Rivolta. For those of you not familiar with the Iso story, in the early 1960s, Renzo Rivolta, an Italian engineer and successful appliance manufacturer, put together some of the best minds in the Italian auto industry, including Ferrari 250GTO designer Giotto Bizzarrini, and a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, then with Bertone. This car was a part of the Sports Car market magazine and was a personal driver of Publisher Keith Martin two or three years ago. This particular car was delivered new in Belgium, but quickly found its way to Southern California where it lived the majority of its life. As a result, the car escaped the fate of most of the 799 Rivoltas built. Most ISOs suffer from terminal rust and this car has very minimal rust (have many pictures upon request).

Very rare and hard to find car with original floor panels that are in good shape. The exterior of the car has a older re-spray (deep metallic maroon) that has still a great shine and is very presentable. The sides are straight and the panel gaps quite good. There are a few minor dings and some minor scratches. The rear bumper is a bit tweaked. The “horseshoe emblem" that was on the grill is missing. But overall the car is all there. The leather seats (brown), headliner, dash, and wood is in very good, original condition. A few of the seams on the drivers seat that have separated. The floor mats are in the trunk. and the power windows also work very well.

Under the hood, everything appears to be original with numbers matching per the chassis plate, and the original Iso air cleaner with its Iso numbers stamped on it. The motor is the original 327/300 hp Chevrolet V8. It runs extremely well and cool with excellent power, no smoke or funny noises, includes smog pump and hoses connected to the engine. The ISO goes down the road and stops straight. Recently rebuilt steering box and feels very tight. The car comes with four new gas shocks. The De Dion rear axle was rebuilt and bearings replaced Also the Hurst shift linkage comes with the car so is the jack and the spare. Also has chrome hub caps. The car is a great highway cruiser. With its 2.99 rear end, it is incredibly long-legged. These cars were built to go 140mph and this one is capable of 60mph in first gear. Showing 38,420 km turned over once = 138,420 (86,010 miles) on the odometer and believed to be original.

The car comes with reams of documents, receipts, club literature, and rare factory brochures and manuals. All irreplaceable stuff. This Iso is a VERY SOLID and is in above average drivers quality condition. I would not hesitate to drive this Iso on a 2,000 mile road trip!

Given the relative obscurity of the Iso name amongst collectors, one can imagine values on this grand touring coupe are cheaper than the comparable Ferraris, Lancias and Lamborghinis of the day. Solid runners can command anywhere between $30,000 to $50,000 these days. Given this car's originality and documentation, I'd suspect the reserve is set at least in the mid $40,000 range, with the seller hoping to gain an extra $10,000 to $20,000 over that.

1975 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000

The 2000 was the final evolution of the famed GTV coupe. Introduced in 1971, the twin cam four cylinder engine produced 130 horsepower and came equipped with SPICA fuel injection in the US and Canada. This fuel injection system made a name for itself for being rather unreliable. Other markets were fortunate in that carburetors were the fuel delivery system of choice and with them came a higher horsepower figure of 150. This GTV 2000 is one of those carbureted cars, coming from Europe with a rare factory sunroof.

1975 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Euro. This is the very rare 1975 production year Euro Bertone designed GTV 2000, VIN # AR105300004710, with the Alfa factory Dellorto twin carbs, (NOT the troublesome U.S. Spica F.I.), finished in the rare European Champagne color with black vinyl interior; this color was not available to the U.S. market. The paint is mostly original, and near perfect, and is best described as "bronze," and all glass was taken out during a factory color respray. This rare GTV also has the rare manual sliding factory sunroof, not available to the U.S. Market.

These GTVs were not imported to the US market after 1974. European GTV’s are faster, handle and look better then the U.S. GTV 2000’s. They weigh about 145 lb’s lighter then the U.S. GTV versions. You can feel the difference at speed. This rare original unmolested GTV is owned by a career Military Officer and Classic car collector, who recently brought it back from Europe. It is rust free, with exception of two spots on the roof, which could be easily re-painted.

The interior is very good with original glass all around. The body is near perfect, with NO door dings (see photos) and all the gaps are true and straight, with no past accident damage. This GTV is totally original and unmolested! It has the original wheels, with GTV stainless steel caps, which have just been newly powder-coated. It drives beautifully, tight, no squeaks, and stiff suspension. It has a clear title and a matching numbers with the ORIGINAL engine, 143 K original Kilometers-NOT miles!

Attached pictures are included of the shock towers, front and rear floor pans-both sides, arches, all 4 jack points, and door jambs which show no rust. Gaps are straight and true, both doors open/close and lock easily, and the steering wheel is the original factory Alfa Romeo "Personal" wheel. The GTV has just been serviced (this week-8 July 2012) with new fluids, including oil filter, lubed, and a minor tune-up performed: four new platinum plugs and NEW plug wires were installed. It also has a brand new German Bosch 12 volt battery. Tires are all-matching German-made Uni-Royal Rallye 195/70 R 14’s with about 70% tread left. The rare factory sliding manual roof is easy and fast to use, with ease of operation!

The Radio is the Euro Phillips radio, but I have never used it, preferring the music of the 2 liter carbureted engine. An Alfa radio Plate should replace it. The original dash is perfect. The door handles work easily with no internal cracks (a common GTV curse that are expensive to replace). All lights work, horn, turn signals, brake lights, E. flasher, heater, fan, windshield wipers, dash gauges, and rear window heater all work properly. The engine is very good, no oil leaks, excellent compression, no smoke, very high oil pressure (see pictures of gauges at speed of 70 MPH), excellent clutch (no slippage), superior perfect 5 speed transmission with no slippage, grinding, or noise. or popping out of gear and 1st to 2nd is smooth!

All gauges work properly, and please note this model has the rare under dash factory installed Clock and factory installed Ammeter (see pics). Also note, since it is a "Euro GTV" it does NOT have the ugly side markers. Also please note that all gauges are Euro, and the speedometer is in Kilometers. This GTV is a wonderful original driver’s car. Superb, very Fast and sunny with the manual sliding sunroof, dependable, performance oriented, and "1 of a kind!" You will never find another.

As the seller, VERY regretfully, I am selling this very rare GTV due to my wife’s illness. I will request from buyer a "buy back option," at a later date, should buyer decide to resell this rare GTV in the future (if agreeable). There is probably no other original European GTV 2000 like this one available in the U.S.! I would like to own it again.

After reading the story of this car, I can't help but have a heavy heart. We all go through difficult times in our lives and I hope the seller's wife makes a speedy recovery. This sale also goes to show that certain cars have a lot of meaning, which is evidenced by the fact the owner seeks to buy it back someday if the new owner ever decides to sell it. These days, GTV 2000s average around $22,000 to $27,000. The best examples can reach into the $30,000 range, and you can find tired runners between $10,000 and $15,000. If I had to peg a value on this one, it would probably be right around $25,000, as the sunroof and European trim make this an especially desirable GTV.

2003 Maserati Coupe GT

Depreciation can be a wonderful thing. Almost a decade on, the Maserati Coupe GT can now be had for about a third of its original list price. Designed by Giugiaro, these coupes signaled a renaissance of the Trident brand from the dark days of the late 1980s and early 1990s and brought exotic Italian machinery within the reach of consumers who would have normally found themselves behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 or Jaguar XK-R. This Coupe GT for sale in North Carolina has the less complex 6 speed manual gearbox and is lightly run in with 28,000 miles.

Beautiful black 2003 Maserati Coupe GT with the 400HP 4.2l engine shared with the V8 Ferraris of that year. Tan leather interior with darker tan piping (additional cost option). Pleated leather headliner, Skyhook adaptive suspension, Xenon headlamps, CD, Nav, cruise, power everything. This vehicle has every option offered except the paddle shifted auto-manual (the Cambiocorsa option), and honestly the 6-speed is the transmission you want anyway. Turning the key gives you a front row seat to an Italian symphony - the 4.2l V8 sounds like nothing else on the road. The car sounds wonderful at every day RPMs, but really opens up about 4000. My other car is a '68 Mustang, and the novelty of a V8 that keeps pulling happily past 6000 RPM just never wears off. The wheels have been refinished back to factory color - the previous owner had them painted gold. The Michelin Pilot Sport tires still have plenty of tread, and the vehicle handles like a dream.

I've had the vehicle for two years and put less than 1200 miles on it. Only one major repair - the Mass Air Flow sensor went out, and was replaced at the local Maserati dealership. The oil was changed there two (at the same time) and I had them go through the vehicle looking for anything that looked out of the ordinary. It got a clean bill of health. I don't have the receipts from the previous owner, but I have the name of the dealership it was serviced at. (A state law prevents them from releasing service records to anyone other than than the person they were performed for, but if you call up (like I did) with the VIN, they'll read off the service history to you. It was serviced regularly by the owner who put most of the 20,000 miles on the vehicle, at an authorized Maserati dealership. The previous owner had information that the clutch had been replaced within the previous 2-3K miles, and I believe it. It feels solid. It recently passed North Carolina emissions with no trouble.

In the interest of full disclosure, some small quibbles. The shift boot sometimes releases from the console at the base. There's a snap-in plastic ring that holds the leather boot in place, and pressing it back in fixes it. I've thought about shimming the snaps (which are under aggressive for the job) to fix the boot there semi-permanently, but have never done it. A couple of the A/C vent plastic trim rings have a chrome-like coating which is flaking a little after 10 years. The automatic positioning of the front seats, when they are tipped forward to allow (very compact) people to sit in the back seats, don't alway work. The motors work fine - the seats are fully adjustable with the switches on the sides. But sometimes you tip the seats forward and they automatically motor forward to allow someone in the back, and sometimes they don't. I have a feeling it is the switch in the seat itself that isn't signaling the computer properly, but since it is a rarity to have someone try to squeeze into the back seat I haven't tracked it down. There are two minor dings, one in the front bumper and one in the rear. (Very shallow depth - 1/16th of an inch, perhaps?) They are both small enough not to be noticeable unless you are looking for them, and are quite fixable. They haven't detracted from my enjoyment of the vehicle so I haven't fixed them.

This is a vehicle that turns heads wherever it goes. The black over two-tone tan interior is a rare option, and fits the vehicle wonderfully. It has been garaged it's whole life and well cared for. To be honest, I never anticipated selling this vehicle. I still don't want to. But circumstances are forcing me to do so. I would really like to see this amazing vehicle go to a good home - end up with an owner who will appreciate it's beauty and capability, and take good care of it. It may sound corny, but that's my desire. If you're local, I'd be happy to let you take the car out for a spin. If you're out of town, I'm also happy to run it to the Maserati dealership where they can perform a once-over to your satisfaction (at your expense.) I'm not interested in arranging shipping for the car, but I will certainly arrange to have the car at whatever location is convenient for pickup by a carrier service you specify and handle logistics for.

It’s tempting to think that one could have a like new Maserati for the cost of a well-equipped Toyota Camry, but as with many cars on this site, these are vehicles that require more care and attention than your average grocery getter. Still, at this price point, one could conceivably purchase this machine and for a fraction of a new Maserati, still have funds left over to maintain the car without breaking the bank. I am a big fan of these coupes. While they aren’t the most flamboyant Italian design exercise, the fact that they are some of the last Maseratis to come with a third pedal has me naturally attracted to them.

1983 Lancia Delta 1500

When it was introduced in 1979, few could believe that the Lancia Delta would eventually go on to be the vehicle that would win six World Rally Championships in a row for Lancia, from 1987 to 1992. But before the four wheel drive arrived, before the championships began to amass, there was the car you see before you here. Introduced in 1979, the original Delta featured a 1.5 liter four cylinder engine with 85 horsepower, front-wheel drive and squared off lines penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The combination was attractive enough to win the European Car of the Year award for 1980. This like new example residing in the Netherlands is possibly one of the best examples of an early Delta left.

1983 Lancia Delta 1500

The Lancia Delta was introduced in 1979 and was voted European Car of the Year in 1980 by an international jury. It was a Giorgietto Giugiaro design. With the total concept of the Delta with its transversal mounted engine, front wheel drive and independent suspension a new era began in the Lancia history. The engine’s of the Delta had 1300 cc and 1500 cc with 75 hp and 85 hp. The larger engine had electronic ignition. The Delta was manufactured on a computer controlled assembly line, a guarantee for a better than average quality. From 1980 until 1986 the Delta was exported to the Scandinavian countries as "Saab-Lancia 600." Later the Delta was very successful in many international rallies in the HF Integrale version until the early nineties.

The 1983 Lancia Delta 1500 of the 1st series now available at Montagna ha had only one previous lady owner from Germany who drove 62.600 km with the car. The car is in an extraordinary condition and looks, drives and handles like a new car, a real collector’s item!

For a thirty year old vehicle, this Lancia is in amazing condition. Showroom condition is a term often thrown about on vehicle forecoruts, but this car lives up to that hype. For $7,500 USD, this is an amazing piece of Lancia history. Even if it isn't one of the faster Integrale versions, the appeal of this car lies beyond speed. This was where an icon began.

1971 Maserati Ghibli Spyder

One could consider it a miracle that Maserati is still in business to this day. A multitude of owners and mergers left the company struggling by the late 1980s. Then, Fiat came along in 1993, when the automotive giant sold 50% of its interest to Ferrari. Now partnered with Alfa Romeo, Maserati is enjoying strong sales despite a global economic downturn. One of the shining moments in Maserati history was the Ghibli, a handsome grand touring coupe introduced when the company was owned by the Orsi family and ceased production after the Citroën takeover. A Spyder version of the Ghibli was introduced in 1969, but only 125 of these gorgeous drop tops were ever produced. Subsequently, surviving examples command big prices, such as this concours example for sale in California.

Absolutely stunning and superb example of a 4.7, 5-speed powersteering equipt Ghibli Spyder one of 125 built. AM115 1209. This car was in the Boston Museum of Art prior to receiving a complete, no expense spared restoration of more than $180,000. Numerous recent 1st place awards as the car was finished in August 2010. Everything is new or rebuilt and is likely the finest example available. Dark Blu Notte with Cashmere leather and matching wool carpeting dark blue canvas top. Completely sorted mechanically without issues or excuses. Drive and show anywhere condition. Average current prices for 4.7 "drivers" at $300k all needing complete renovation to achieve this level. At almost half a million dollars, this is certainly one of the more valuable classic Maseratis. Even Spyders in rough shape can bring upwards of $200,000, so a no expense spared restoration such as this vehicle is worth the extra coin, as parts for such a rare vehicle can be daunting and expensive to source.

1971 Alfa Romeo GTV 1750

The Alfa Romeo GTVs of the late 1960s and early 1970s are some of the most beloved classic Alfa Romeos. These coupes were direct competition to the BMW 2002, as they offered lively four cylinder, rear-wheel drive performance in a tidy package. In an era of muscle cars, it took a different kind of customer to buy one of these cars. One who favored handling and engineering over outright straight line performance. We’ve featured a few exceptional examples of these GTVs here at CICFS, but this example for sale in New Jersey could be best described as a driver. With a bit of rust here and wear there, it’s the perfect car for someone looking for a driver to enjoy or a solid basis for a light restoration.

1971 Alfa Romeo GTV 1750. Rare yellow exterior with black interior. 1750 CC 4 cylinder engine. 5-speed manual transmission. 36,000 miles. Runs and drives great for a 41 year old car. This is your chance to own a very original and nice condition Alfa Romeo GTV. This is the sports coupe that everyone wants. It is even more desirable and harder to find than the 2000CC version. This car is very solid with one repaint to original color. It does have some sections of rust down low that isn't that noticable, but please note in my pictures. It also does have some touchups on vehicle. The chrome is in nice shape. The interior is all orginial. The floors are solid. The carpet is in good condition. The seats have a few cracks and could be recovered to make them perfect. There is some small sections of tape right now covering small cracks. The speedometer and odometer work, but the tachometer does not.

The engine runs as it should. It sounds great with ANSA exhaust with polished tips out the back. A recent tune up including fuel filter and oil change was just performed. The brakes have a good pedal and stops great. The caliper on one brake does drag ever so slightly and may free up with more use. The tires are matching Perelli P600 all around with plenty of rubber. It is also missing one center hub cap. All exterior lights(headlamps, turn signals, and brake lights) work as they should. This is a fun car that can be enjoyed as it is, or taken to the next level with very little effort.

A decent GTV 1750 runner can range in price anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000, depending on how rust free the example is, along with mileage and maintenance performed. I would say around $13,000 to $14,000 will probably take this one, if indeed the reserve is met. If you are looking for a usable classic and the 2002 seems just a bit too mainstream, a GTV in this period shade of yellow might just be the answer.
